Seven New Property Management Companies For Sale; Two Now Podcast Eps
New Podcast Episodes
It’s been a while since I talked about my property management podcast here… but Season 4 is in full swing, with new episodes every week. I’m getting tons of great feedback from listeners (thank you).
I want to highlight two recent episodes in particular. They’re fun to listen to back-to-back, because each guest has a radically different philosophy on how to think about the resident experience.
Donny Thompson manages 1900 units with 10 people. Whaaaaat. It sounds insane, unbelievable even. But I’ve known Donny for years; he’s right here in my market (Columbus, Ohio). Donny manages lower-end homes and apartments for property owners all over the country. He’s built an impressive machine to handle section 8 at massive scale. Donny does not have a phone number for tenants. They must text or email to reach the office.
Logan Rankin owns 4,000 (actually he just passed 5,000 this week) apartments by himself. No outside capital, no JV/LPs, nothing like that. He sharpened his operational chops at Target corporate and has an amazing and inspiring story of starting with a couple duplexes and just relentlessly focusing on property management operations. His team can turn over an entire apartment in 72 hours. Logan requires all resident phone calls to be answered before the 3rd ring.
You simply must listen to these episodes if you’re in property management. You will love hearing from these guys. Subscribe to my podcast and you’ll find these interviews near the top of the feed. Click the button and you’ll see options to subscribe in various podcast players (and on YouTube):

Industry News and Events
I already heard from 1 reader who got free tix and hotel to the NARPM property management conference next month. There’s still time… more info here.
Don’t forget to register for LeadSimple’s user conference in December. They’re running a team bundle right now… buy 3+ tix, save big. I’m speaking and it’s a really well-done event.
While you’re in Austin for LeadSimple, bolt on RentScale’s 1-day event, conveniently happening the day before. I’ve been multiple times and it’s excellent. I’m sending my BDM this year.
Closing Thought
Important ideas / processes / architectures / strategies should have both a written and visual component, often communicating the same thing (at different levels of detail).
Not just because people comprehend things differently, but because they double-check each other.
