Peter Lohmann's Mailing List - Issue #7

Good afternoon! Thanks for being a subscriber. Here's what's new:

New Article Up on the Blog!

First, I moved my blog from Medium to my website peterlohmann.com/blog. Big shout-out to Fritz Johnson for helping me get that done.

I just published a brand new article about revenue opportunities for property management company owners and landlords. It took around 10 hours of research, and I personally spoke to representatives from each company discussed in the piece. I think there's something there for everyone - most people don't realize there are so many different value-add ways to increase your profits when it comes to real estate. I discuss resident benefit packages, utility & banking ideas, security deposit profit sharing, and insurance referral programs.

Give it a read and let me know if you have any feedback!

Owner Occupied Season 1 is a Wrap

We finished out season 1 of the Owner Occupied podcast with 18 episodes. The last episode ended up being one of my favorites - special guest Kevin Clark brought some fascinating insights and ideas about Zillow & Airbnb, realtor referral fees and commissions, real estate as an inflation hedge, and more.

You can watch episode 18 (and the entire season) on Youtube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or anywhere else you listen.

I've got some awesome guests lined up for Season 2 which is set to launch this fall. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!

I Bought an Engineering Company

On June 1st, my business partner Adam Rich and I closed on the acquisition of Criterium-Liszkay Engineers, located in Gahanna, Ohio. Criterium provides engineering & inspection services for all types of properties, including residential, commercial and industrial. The company is over 50 years old and is well-respected within central Ohio for providing great value to property owners who need the services of an engineer or inspector. Criterium is now part of the "RL Family" - and is also hiring for licensed Professional Engineers. Criterium - We Know Buildings!

If you would like to hear more about this acquisition, tune in to the Owned and Operated podcast episode 26, where I was a guest and discussed some of the background on that purchase toward the second half of the show.

Grand Canyon Hike Rim-to-Rim Completed

I did it! On Saturday I completed hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day. We started on the south rim and hiked about 23 miles in total, including 4,000 feet of elevation down into the canyon, across the Colorado river, then back up 6,000 feet to the north rim. This was by far the most physically challenging thing I have ever done and pushed me beyond the limits of what I thought was possible. It was over 105 degrees in the canyon and I was hiking for 15 hours.

The group of entrepreneurs I went with (around 22 people) collectively raised over $25,000 for an amazing charity called Operation Underground Railroad. Thank you to those who contributed and followed along on my journey!

That's about it from here - be well.
