NAR Meltdown

In case you haven’t heard, a couple weeks ago NAR (National Association of Realtors) lost a massive lawsuit to the tune of 1.8 billion in damages. This has the potential to bankrupt them several times over, especially after the copycat lawsuits get going.

I’m not qualified to comment further, but I’ve been REALLY enjoying Rob Hahn’s coverage of this entire saga.

Industry News and Events

• 33rd Company, a Minnesota-based property management company which sold assets to PURE Property Management, has sued PURE alleging they failed to make a payment as agreed (specifically, the first installment payment due one year after the sale).

  The judge dismissed the case because of something called “diversity jurisdiction.” I don’t know what that means. None of the facts of the case were reviewed or decided. PURE denied the substance of 33rd’s claims in a public court filing I reviewed.

• On Tuesday, Second Nature is hosting the Triple Win Leadership Exchange. These is an extremely well-produced event with carefully curated speakers. Cameron Harold, author of Vivid Vision, is keynoting. I will be doing a short session directly after the keynote to explain how I developed our own vivid vision for RL Property Management, and the impact it has had on our business. The $29 registration fee goes 100% to charity.
