We hired a COO!

Thank you to everyone who reached out with questions and suggestions about our COO hire, which I covered in the last email. I received a lot of great ideas & things to consider. Cathy Gainer started last week in her new role as COO of RL Property Management. We're thrilled to have her on board and she's off to a great start. Tool & Software We Use To Grow

In the process of getting prepared for our new COO's first day, I compiled a cheat sheet of software that we use to run our property management business, as a reference. Job Opportunity in Property Management

Moses Kagan is hiring for a property manager role at his firm Adaptive Realty in Los Angeles. If you know anyone looking for a way into the industry, I can't recommend this opportunity highly enough. If you aren't familiar with Moses, he's an amazing follow on Twitter and his blog is a wealth of information about starting, growing and running a real estate private equity firm (they also do 3rd party management of apartments). 2021 Life Experiments

Jonathan Swanson (co-founder of Thumbtack) has a great new blog post up where he reviews his 2021 life experiments. He does these almost every year and I'm always fascinated by the crazy things he's testing out. For example, in 2021 he decided to try delegating everything by voice (no email) to increase efficiency. Read about the results of that and his other business & productivity experiments here.
