Our Industry is About to Get Its First Real Set of Operations Benchmarks
For years, property managers have had plenty of dashboards to stare at.
What we haven't had? How to know if the numbers on those dashboards are actually good!
For example, knowing your time-to-turn doesn't mean much on its own. Is it fast? Slow? Average? You can't answer that without a common standard to measure against (benchmark), and until now, our industry hasn't had any for operations.
Needless to say, I've been tracking this problem closely and talking to lots of people in our industry about what we can do about it. Finally, someone is stepping up. Enter ProfitCoach: they're launching operations benchmarking platform for residential property managers.
ProfitCoach solved a similar problem back in 2018, building the industry's first financial benchmarks off the NARPM Accounting Standards. Then, two years ago, they went after operations, launching the PM Operations Standards (which Crane sponsored). It’s a framework that breaks core PM workflows into standardized milestones. Measure the time between those milestones the same way across every company, and you finally get apples-to-apples data instead of everyone's homegrown metrics.
Now they're taking it a step further: the first live operational benchmarking platform built on those same standards.
They're looking for operators running LeadSimple, Aptly, or Realm-X Flows to submit operational data (never shared, sold, or identifiable once it's in the benchmark) in exchange for a free operations benchmarking dashboard once it goes live this fall. This isn’t going to be some vibe-coded weekend project; ProfitCoach is going hardcore mode and making this a cornerstone of their offering moving forward. They’re taking their time to get it right.
For now, access is limited to ProfitCoach clients and Crane members while they build the founding dataset. The next group gets invited soon. If you want to be in that first wave and get the dashboard at launch, you can join the waitlist.
You'll get notified the moment the waitlist opens. And your contribution helps build the benchmark our industry uses to measure operational performance for years to come.

Jon bought a pair of Meta Ray-Bans to snap pictures of his kids without digging his phone out. A few weeks in, he's dictating voice memos hands-free and texting commands straight to his AI agent through them.
On this new Lazy Leverage ep, Jon and I get into the backdoor that routes Meta's whole ecosystem to whatever agent you're already using, plus what it means for crews: before-and-afters without chasing footage, a master plumber troubleshooting a junior tech's job from one photo, and basically a body cam for your business.
